The Board View is a flexible way to visualize your Collection docs in a Kanban-style layout — perfect for tracking projects, ideas, or workflows
What is the Board View?
The Board View allows you to visualize a Collection as columns — like a Kanban board.
Each column corresponds to an attribute (e.g., status, priority), and docs appear as cards that can be moved between columns.
You can use a Board View for:
- Content backlogs
- Task management
- Pipeline tracking (e.g. job openings)
How to Create a Board View
1) Create a view in an existing Collection
To switch to the Board View, click the "View options" button in the top right corner of the Collection and select the Board view type.
Choose how you'd like to group your docs, your display properties, then click "Create new view."

2) Use the editor command
You can type
/collection and choose New collection - Board view to create a new Board View.Move Docs Around
To move or reorder docs, you can drag and drop doc cards directly on the board:
- Reorder within or between columns: Drag a card and drop it onto another card to place it immediately before or after it. A blue line indicates the exact drop position. Board view and Table view share the same underlying manual order.
- In filtered views: Manual reordering works while filters are active.
- In sorted views: Moving a card between columns updates its attribute while preserving the sort. Dropping a card to reorder it within a sorted view opens a dialog offering to Remove sort so your manual placement takes effect.
Any column or position changes sync across all views and embedded versions of that Collection.
